Urban Cycle Gallery, Berlin

The opening of the Urban Cycle Gallery in Berlin-Mitte. Dot Atelier screens various, partially interactive installations from Australia. In collaboration with anyonion, some of the designs were articulated into woolen fabrics.

One could just image a comfy Dutch bike, with a rolled up or wearable blanket, cycling to the next picnic space in a budding summer.

The urban interface of Berlin constitutes a vivid dialogue between automobile dependency and deep walkability and cyclability. Creative classes wish to engage in a c t i v e mobility without the emissions. The sheer mass of bicycles taking to the streets and wide footpaths in this city is enforcing a sharing of the space.

The present display ends on 24.04.2010. There will be on-going exhibits at the UCG.
